First of all, thanks to everyone that came out for the BudgIT sponsored, Transparency Hackathon and also those who participated. We thoroughly enjoyed partnering with BudgIT and hosting the event at our hub and for those who came through either to participate or watch, we hope you enjoyed it too.
As a quick recap: 6 teams formed on the spot participated in the hackathon and all 6 did us at CoLab proud, as we were wowed by the quality of ideas and prototypes that came about in the short time that the hackathon spanned for.
All 6 resulting prototypes (3rd Eye, Report IT, e-Med, Project Tracking Directory, City Dev, and School Track) were judged by a panel of three on the following criteria:
- Cost Effectiveness
At the end of the day after aggregating the scores from all three judges, ReportIT came in 1st and went home with a N100,000 cash prize. CitiDev and Project Tracking Directory were the 1st and 2nd runner ups and won cash prices of N75,000 and N50,000 respectively.
All three winners also would get support from CoLab and BudgIT should they decide to take the next step and turn their prototypes into full fledged products. This support would include incubation and funding.
You’ll find a bunch of photos from the event on our Facebook page here.
