Venture’s Platform, an accelerator in Abuja, stopped by at CoLab on the 2nd of February, 2017; as part of their “The Hunt” roadshow to drum up applications for their next cohort of startups.
From the moment we kicked off, till the end when we literally had to beg people to go home, the atmosphere was charged with excitement, as we discussed the roles of hubs and accelerators in a tech ecosystem, and the specifics of what CoLab and also Ventures Platform brought to the table. We also dabbled a bit on the topic of investments and investors, and how to scale.

Sanusi from CoLab introducing Mimshach, Dare and Kayode of VP’s Incubation Team to the audience.
The guys from Ventures Platform, then got the floor to talk about their acceleration programme in detail – what they offered, their track record and how startups could benefit from it and answered all the questions that followed.
Afterwards, there was an idea pitching/open office session where, the audience got to pitch their ideas, and listen to professional opinions and feedback from both the CoLab and Ventures Platform staff and also the audience.

A cross-section of the audience
All in all, it was a good one. We learnt, we laughed and most importantly, all those that were present got to see first-hand how serious we are with regards to building a tech ecosystem on this side of the world and what steps we had taking towards achieving that goal.
If you haven’t applied to join Ventures Park’s Acceleration programme, and you meet the criteria, you should here.
You will find a bunch of photos from the day on our Facebook Page.
